2019: Master en Science Politique, Relations Internationales (Université de Liège)
Biography
Nelly Gérard is an assistant and a PhD student in the center "Démocratie" attached to the Political Science department of the University of Liège. She holds a Bachelor degree in Political Science (2017) and a Master degree in Political Science specialised in the study of International Relations (2019).
Her research focuses on the consequences of Brexit on the relations between the British central government and the Scottish devolved governement and the constitutional structure of the United Kingdom. She addresses these issues by conducting a diachronic and critical analysis of the Scottish discourse on the British-Scottish intergovernmental relations. Her approach is interdisciplinary and rests both on elements of grand social theory (when it comes to concepts such as social representations, collective imaginary or social power) and methods of analysis steming from Critical Discourse Analysis.
